The only difference between men and little boys is the price AND the size of their toys...
At an age of 28 years I started to buy a solid and sound Rover: P63500, monza red with black roof and with the famous extra tire behind my `cockpit`. I have driven more than 500.000 kilometres with it. It saved my during two severe car accidents. Both crashes without guilt from my part. At least I survived.
Lateron I could buy from a friend of my, Thomas Deelen, a `so called poor mens Rolls`, a Rover P5 3500 Saloon, burnt grey. Soo many years ago I have driven a Rover SD 1 3500 Vandenplas as well. Both sons, Onno and Joris , loved this car in particular. For intance in Itly when we rented a very old farm in Tuscany.
The rest of my passion for good old British Cars was histerry like :
Triumph Herald,
Triumph Spitfire,
Triumph Stag,
Landrover 109 (the ancestor of the Defender)
Landrover Discovery Landrover Range Rover
... and then I could buy in September, 2006 a beautiful `Best of Both Worlds` Rover 75 Sterling, V6 2,5 litre for a special price: € 11.000; 8 years old and with just 90.000 real kilometres on the clock.
