La Fundación La Esperanza Enraizada
La Fundación La Esperanza Enraizada E. in Costa Rica (since 2006);`founding fathers`: Cor Denneman Heilscher (`presidente`), Hans van der Wielen (board member) & Marinus Gisolf (board member).
In order to protect the endangered primary and secondary forests in southern Nicoya Peninsula it has been decided to create a foundation:
Fundación la Esperanza Enraizada.
This foundation will also be used to fulfil our promises in
terms of community development .
Thanks to the foundation’s
work, children can get meals and milk in nearby schools every day.
Another important part of the foundation’s efforts is education in
hygiene and health by introducing aseptic systems and
scheduled doctor and dentist visits.
La Fundación la Esperanza Enraizada will
help to set up a programme to support traditional folk-dance and music
groups, including traditional bread baking. One of the biggest
challenges will be the supply of clean drinking-water to the community.
Local guards will be trained, in cooperation with the local police, to
prevent poaching and cutting trees in the forests.
