Publication: Mountain Bike tour II in Paramaribo

Picture: Mountain Bike tour II in Paramaribo Saturday 31 January 2009 - One week after my maiden bike tour in Paramaribo to the east I decided this morning to make my second tour to the west.

Interested to see some pictures of cosy Paramaribo ?
Sail to :"Photography".

First of all I went to `Fietsen in Suriname` at the Grote Combéweg, situated  next to my favourite salad restaurant `Zus en Zo` and nearby our `Headquarters Grote Combéweg 25-27`(of our contactperson mr. Albert D. Soedamah). Founding father of `Fietsen in Suriname` Etto Paulus was not there but his representative John Verwey was so kind to change the steer position of my Gazelle Supercharged mountain bike. John told me about his `Fietstours, MTB tours & plantage-tochten` as entrepreneur. I discussed with him a possible collaboration in the future concerning MTB tours on `Landgoed Groot Mariënbosch`, from the still overwhelming Commewijne River upto the Atlantic Ocean, watching the famous leatherbacks on the beach in our `back yard`.

After that short stop I went to the Wijdenbosch Bridge. Like a steep mountain. It was much higher and heavier by bike than I had ever thought before. But I did it anyway. Pffff...

Than I took the trip to  `Winchesterstraat`, where the office of Danpaati Lodge is situated and where my associate Marije van Zomeren had lived before. I visited a very special church and during my bike tour I was impressed by so many old buildings. I stopped at `Hermitage Mall` for my orientation tour and lateron I had an early and tasty dinner at Indonesian restaurant Jawa.

At the end of my 6 hours tour I deserved my weekly desert at Fernandes ice cream, next to Torarica . .. There I  met our notary Diepak Chitoe with  part of his big family. As a tribute to this nice company I made two representative pictures...
