Publication: Youngest Son Joris 31 Years Today
Tuesday 28 April 2009 - `This day is the first day of the rest of my life.` And a special day again. First of all it is the birthday of my father in law, Harry Kloppenborg, who died at the age of 93 in Utrecht ... However, today we also celebrate the birthday of our youngest son Joris. I still remember his birth in Alkmaar on 28-04-1978 and some weeks ago my wife Joke and I celebrated the marriage of Joris & Inger in Arnhem. Lucky days...
Tonight Joris and his (pregnant) wife Inger Boogh (both living in Arnhem) will be invited by Joke and me to come to `De Koning van Denemarken`, a cosy restaurant in Rhenen near the River Rhine, between Arnhem and Zeist.
Back to (today`s) business: At 08:00 a.m. I will have -deo volente- a meeting with the Foppen Family in their impressive manor house (of Foppen Vastgoed bv), Harderwijk.
I already prepared a photo album.
We will discuss the following opportunities:
- ship `Stad Harderwijk` (Vereenigde Suyder See Compagnie ?)
- Landgoed Groot Mariënbosch NV
- Vereenigde Costaricaanse Compagnie bv
- Hacienda la Esperenza
- Scheer & Foppen climate neutral thanks to Forest Returns ?
During a business luncheon in Harderwijk I will also meet my strategic partners Patrick Teunissen and Evert Driessen to continue our discussions about sustainable hospitality on our country estates in Costa Rica & Surinam in general and about shipping activities in The Netherlands and Surinam (`salonboot "De Waag > < Commewijne Rivier") in particular.
At 02:00 p.m. the three of us -Deo & Foppen Senior volente- will have a meeting on the `Stad Harderwijk` with the certified ship surveyor Gerard Duursma....
The saga will be continued
Post Scriptum:
Afterwards the planned business luncheon took place with Patrick
Teunissen and Evert Driessen of Business Maritime.
Later-on we had an
assesment, led by our maritime engineer, ship expert & yacht
surveyor Gerard Duursma of Duursma & Versluijs. With the permission
of the Foppen Family and with the help of Captain Coen den Helder,
Gerard made a professional survey on board of MPS "Stad Harderwijk" as
shown in this photo album. In spite of my 3 piece suit I joined Gerard
and Coen in the heart & lungs of this promising ship, originally
built in 1964 by G. de Vries Lentsch, Nieuwendam.
After the assesment
tour around and on board the ship Gerard and I had a meeting with Coen
in the `VIP-room` on board MPS "Stad Harderwijk" in the presence of
Patrick Teunissen, Evert Driessen and Femke Vrij (account manager on
behalf of Flevo Rederij/ARdJ & Associates). Coen told me afterwards
that he had been surprised to see me, as an executive, go downstairs in
this ship and look around like I did. The normal attitude, I think. I
shared with Captain Coen my -in the eyes of others - sometimes
unusual/strange/ habits. As an Indiana Jones look alike. And last but
not least with affection and respect for the benefit of the most
important capital of all: human capital !
To be continued -deo volente-
on Wednesday, 06 May 2009, 08:00 a.m. with Patrick in Harderwijk again,
to negociate with the Foppen Dynasty in their Oranje Meckelenburg
Castle. The so called King of Harderwijk, Mr. Aart Foppen Esq., will be
invited to join main shareholder (35 %) Forest Returns and become
co-owner of Landgoed Groot Mariënbosch in the New Surinam. This will be
a vital element of a proposed strategic alliance between Foppen Holding
& Core Developments Holding.
I will invite him to visit our next
infomative session on Thursday, 7 May 2009 in an other `harbour &
shipyard`, called: `Bosschuur d`Ouwe Kamp`, situated in Austerlitz...
